HCTV is going global! The Light Brigade is a special projects unit of HCTV, largely funded through grants, gifts, and donations, and designed for ad hoc production of short features, documentaries, and other public affairs programs on international topics.
In this first phase of development, video content on this Light Brigade page is experimental, consisting mainly in unedited dispatches from foreign locations. For example, from May 12-25 HCTV “video ranger” Stephen Maly will be posting occasional dispatches from Kosovo and Macedonia in the Western Balkans.
In the future, HCTV aspires to present Light Brigade materials produced by a cadre of correspondents in several distant and disparate parts of the world. Collections of audio/video pieces will be integrated into an innovative distance learning initiative called Global Civics.
