I am interested in getting my message out to Helena citizens. I have started CLAB Enterprises (Communities Learning Appropriate Behaviors) www.clabenterprise.org and the origin was guided by the community’s response to the violence in the schools, my situation with my daughter and the Helena shootings that occurred in June 2009. As the community took an extensive look at the issue of violence occurring in our school settings, it became clear that violence among adolescents stretches far beyond the walls of educational institutions and presents a complex, threatening public health concern requiring a comprehensive response.

The mission of CLAB Enterprises is to provide dynamic resources that facilitate the comprehensive development of our communities practice for youth violence prevention. The objectives are to create an online and offline forum to facilitate networking and collaboration among key agents in our communities—local government leaders and community leaders—and to provide these key representatives with resources and training and technical assistance to support our efforts to plan, implement, and evaluate effective youth violence prevention efforts in our communities. The transition plans for our main focus of youth violence prevention which is continually ongoing with our strategy that include a designed website, content and communication for delivering resources, technical assistance, training, and approaching local government and communities in implementing community-wide youth violence prevention strategies.
